SOWETO – Tributes continue to pour in for  Kwaito legend Sandile “Mapaputsi” Ngwenya.
The musician passed away on Thursday following a short illness.
His well-known hit “Izinja”, propelled him to the top of the charts at the height of Kwaito’s popularity in South Africa.
The neighbourhood of Zola in Soweto where he was born, was a breeding ground for the genre.
Mapaputsi’s memorial will be held next week.
eNCA’S Lindiwe Mpanza has the story in the video above.
